Andrew “Irish” Wohlfert
I believe mental health care is a form of mental justice, one that must be rooted in autonomy, not shaped by pressure to fit someone else’s idea of what “healing” should look like. In a world that constantly asks us to shrink, shape-shift, or perform just to belong, being honest about who you are and what you need is an act of courage. And, connection - real, honest connection- is something we all need now more than ever.
Mental health isn’t just a field or a commodity; it’s a practice. A process. A value. And the fact that you’re even here, exploring your options, is already a meaningful step. I believe your healing belongs to you. I am grateful for the opportunity to explore your values, your goals, and your unique way forward.
There’s not just one map for healing, rather there are ever-emerging paths that take us forward and sideways and back around - and also parts along the way that remind us to be still. No matter the route, you’re still moving forward. And when you find yourself back in the same spot over and over, that isn’t failure - it’s navigation.
This isn’t just a job for me - it’s something I deeply believe in, and I plan to be here for the long haul. That means there’s no rush, no deadlines, and no pressure for you to show up a certain way. Authentic, sustainable change happens on your own terms, in your own time.
I’m not here to demand change or expect instant progress, or sobriety. If you’ve used substances recently or are still figuring things out, that’s part of the process. You are still welcome here. The only thing I ask is that you bring yourself - and a little patience while we learn how to work together.
No timelines, no rulebook, no pressure. When you’re ready, reach out - let’s talk.
“If harm reduction is the objective of care, genuine autonomy can't be an afterthought- it must be the starting point, the guiding principle, and the aspiring outcome. When care is built on pressure and expectations, it stops being supportive and risks collapsing into compliance demand- a repeatedly failing experiment and an affront to mental justice.”
