She/Her/Hers
Hi! I’m Emily. I am a firm believer that therapy is a place in which we should feel safe to be our authentic selves, share our challenges, and explore ways to grow from them. While I specialize in working with survivors of trauma (including domestic/intimate partner violence, sexual assault, and stalking),I also recognize that sometimes people just need someone that will hear their story, allow them to feel seen, and will help guide them in becoming the best version of themselves. I use a combination of various modalities of therapies (CBT, DBT, and CPT) to allow clients to learn ways to manage the symptoms they struggle with, improve their self-esteem, and become empowered to take on whatever challenges they may face. I also utilize a strengths-based approach to therapy, because I believe every client comes to therapy with their own strengths, and that we can use these as the foundation for their therapy journey. I would love to go on this journey of empowerment, strengths, and growth with you! I have training and experience working with survivors aside from clinical work, including volunteering as a victim advocate, being a SANE victim advocate, and working in two domestic violence shelters. I have 60+ hours of training in advocacy, trauma-informed-care, crisis intervention, and safety planning.
